EMF is a boutique wedding and event floral design studio serving the greater Chicagoland area and beyond. We create natural, romantic and seasonal floral designs that bring a sense of understated elegance and relaxed luxury to any occasion. 

Combining specialty, locally grown flowers whenever possible with interesting plant materials such as branches, pods and grasses, we create artistic yet approachable designs that celebrate the inspiring beauty of nature and enhance one's connection with the world around us.

With a love and respect for hospitality, every event is treated as if it were in our own home. We place a high level of importance on utilizing flowers to create an elevated and memorable guest experience. About Elizabeth Meador Flowers

As a life-long gardener and formal training in herbalism, Liz has a deep respect and admiration for nature. Growing up travelling, and in a family frequently hosting celebrations, Liz had an appreciation for the art of entertaining at a young age. Her love of the outdoors combined with her love of bringing people together made wedding and event floral designthe perfect career. With a background in working with the health benefits of flowers and plants, her arrangements go beyond their aesthetics. She is consistently challenging herself creatively and working to ensure she goes above and beyond to make her client’s floral dreams come true.

Get To Know The Founder

Ideal vacation?

The Cotswolds in England. It’s one of my favorite places, full of so much charm and such a relaxed energy. I love visiting all of the quaint villages, tasting the local cuisine and having a glass of champagne in the idyllic gardens. 

Favorite City?

I will always put my hometown of Chicago first, but London is a close second. It’s full of so much history, creativity and colors!

How do you describe your floral style?

Natural, romantic and artistic. I love creating a “non-eventy” look for weddings and events working with clients who value creativity, originality and trend-setting.

Why floral design?

I am a life-long gardener and have always worked with plants in some form, even studying clinical herbalism in Boulder after college at the University of Denver. I feel such a connection to the natural world and love being able to combine the beauty of flowers with event design to bring smiles to client's faces on one of the most important days of their lives. I love what I do!

Favorite Movie?

Any Nancy Meyers film. The set designs are so dreamy and they’re all feel-good films.

Favorite Food?

A toss up between Chocolate chip cookies and mashed potatoes! I love a good salty/sweet combo!

Coffee or Tea?

Both! I love a good latte in the morning and tea in the afternoon.If you know me, you know I’m always caffeinated!

What do you do when not arranging flowers?

If I’m not working, I am either gardening, cooking (I love food as much as flowers!), seeing live music, or spending time doing some form of outdoor activity with my love Matt.

My husband and I were entirely mesmerized by Liz’s and her team’s gorgeous floral designs on our wedding day! Our venue was in Chicago and the reception flowers were both beautiful and dramatic, exactly what we had asked for!
